At The Hospitals of Providence, our patient navigators are available to help patients and their families get the care and information they need. They can answer questions, coordinate services and assist with patient needs throughout the hospital. They can also help find a doctor or specialist and schedule appointments, if needed. Overall, navigators serve as an advocate for the patient’s medical care.
How can a navigator can help me?
A navigator can:
- Guide you through the healthcare system, including insurance
- Provide information and education
- Coordinate tests and services
- Facilitate communication with your medical team
- Help you track and get to appointments
- Direct you to local resources and support
- Answer questions about classes, seminars and support groups
- Ensure that your questions and concerns on clinical issues are resolved
- Advocate for you during every phase of treatment
