Offering advanced procedures in minimally invasive robotic surgery
The Hospitals of Providence offer robotic, minimally invasive procedures for various conditions. The primary advantage of robotic assisted procedures, are accuracy and precision.
Robotic GERD Surgery
If medication and lifestyle changes aren't enough to relieve your heartburn or GERD symptoms, you may be a candidate for robotic GERD fundoplication surgery, a procedure that stops the flow of acid by strengthening the valve between your esophagus and
stomach. With just a few small incisions, our surgeons can help alleviate your chronic reflux symptoms and the need for GERD medications.
Robotic Colorectal Surgery
If you have been diagnosed with a disease of the colon or rectum such as diverticulitis, colon cancer or rectal polyps, your doctor may recommend colorectal surgery to help treat your condition. The skilled surgeons at The Hospitals of Providence can
perform this procedure robotically with fewer post-surgery complications and a quicker return to bowel function and normal diet
Robotic Abdominal Surgery
If you suffer from abdominal conditions such as adrenal tumors, gastric cancer, hernias or spleen disease, we can help. Using robotic instruments, our specially trained surgeons have a magnified view and access to the smallest areas of the abdomen meaning
they operate with greater clarity and accuracy.
da Vinci® Robotic Surgery
da Vinci® Surgery is a minimally invasive option for patients facing abdominal or gastrointestinal surgery. Instead of a large abdominal incision used in open surgery, da Vinci ® surgeons make a few small incisions - similar to traditional laparoscopy.
However, the da Vinci® System features a magnified 3D high-definition vision system and special wristed instruments that bend and rotate far greater than the human wrist. As a result, da Vinci ® enables your surgeon to operate with enhanced
vision, precision, dexterity and control.
ExcelsiusGPS Spine Surgery
The Hospitals of Providence has acquired the first and only robotic surgical assistant who specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery.
The first technology of its kind, Globus Medical’s ExcelsiusGPS features a remote-controlled robotic arm and an X-ray navigation platform that functions like your vehicle’s GPS. Using the robot, our spine care specialists and surgeons can achieve unparalleled precision in cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine surgeries — even the most complex back procedures — with all the benefits of robotic surgery over traditional procedures.
Magellan™ Robotic System
The Hospitals of Providence was the first to acquire the Magellan™ Robotic System in the El Paso area. The Magellan Robotic System is used by physicians worldwide to navigate peripheral blood vessels in a wide variety of endovascular procedures.
Magellan enables precise steering of guide wires and proprietary robotic catheters through complex anatomy, and provides a highly stable platform for the manual delivery of therapy.
The Magellan™ Robotic System is FDA-approved for use in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease. Additionally, the robotic system is now also being used to treat uterine fibroids providing a minimally invasive treatment option for women experiencing
uterine fibroid growths.
Mako Technology
The Hospitals of Providence offer both Mako Total Hip and Partial Knee application procedures. Mako is a minimally invasive procedure for those suffering from debilitating pain of the knee or hip. Powered by the surgeon-controlled RIO® Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System, our specialty-trained, Mako-certified orthopedic surgeons can treat patient-specific knee or/and hip conditions with the most advanced technology designed to improve patient outcome.
