EL PASO, Texas — The Hospitals of Providence announces key leadership promotions in their continuing effort to expand access to care throughout the community, along with enhancing the services they currently provide.
Erik Cazares, COO for the East Campus and Group COO for The Hospitals of Providence, has been promoted to serve as Chief Executive Officer for the Sierra Campus. Cazares joined The Hospitals of Providence in 2001 and during his twenty-year tenure, he has served in numerous leadership roles to include as CNO for the Sierra Campus. As COO and Group COO, Cazares has successfully led the implementation of multiple new service lines at East Campus, as well as numerous construction expansion projects to include the recent construction of the 3rd floor shell space and the acquisition and opening of the Edgemere ER. Cazares holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Texas Tech University. He is active on numerous boards serving on the Board of Directors for the Center Against Sexual and Family Violence and the UTEP Industrial, Manufacturing and Systems Engineering Program.
Rob Anderson, CEO for the Sierra Campus and Specialty Campus, has been promoted to serve as Chief Executive Officer for the Memorial Campus and Providence Children’s Hospital. Anderson joined The Hospitals of Providence in 2011 and has served in multiple leadership roles to include as the Administrator for Providence Children’s Hospital and as the Market Chief Strategy Officer for the network. As CEO for the Sierra Campus, he has been instrumental in building and expanding key high acute services lines in cardiac, neurosciences, and orthopedics. Under Anderson’s leadership, he developed El Paso’s first structural heart program, and led the efforts to become a Comprehensive Level I Stroke Center, HeartCARE Center designation, Orthopedic Center of Excellence designation, and the acquisition and development of Specialty Campus. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Texas Christian University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas Dallas. He is active in the community serving on multiple boards to include as the Commissioner for the Housing Authority for the City of El Paso and on the Board of Directors for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Chamber of Commerce, and FEMAP Cd. Juarez.
With this transition, Nicholas Tejeda, Group CEO for The Hospitals of Providence, will serve as CEO for The Hospitals of Providence Transmountain Campus, in addition to his current role overseeing the El Paso market. Tejeda has served as Group CEO for The Hospitals of Providence since 2018. Tasha Hopper will continue to serve as CEO for The Hospitals for Providence East Campus.
